Six battles that shaped Britain

Presented by Rob Bell, this series vividly brings to life the stories of Britain’s most famous battles, using a combination of great storytelling, poignant archive, graphics and drone footage. Talking to passionate historians, he delves into the turning points, tactics and moments of genius that secured victories in six important battles: Bannockburn, Hastings, Bosworth Field, Naseby, Boudicca’s Rebellion AKA the Battle of Watling Street and Kett’s Revolt in Norfolk.

The history of Britain has been shaped by wars, often fought to defend lands, cultures and beliefs. Sometime these were wars against invaders like the Romans and the Normans but at other times they were battles against fellow countrymen. We retrace the footsteps of kings, dukes, peasants, and heroic warriors on their route to battle and relive the nervous moments before battle commences. We’ll also get to understand how the land beneath their feet affected the outcomes.
