Are houses built to cope with climate change?

As our climate changes, the threat to people’s homes increases. Floods, fires and hurricanes can bring environmental catastrophe on a scale that houses were not built to withstand. Our homes are in the highest category when it comes to economic disaster loss, but whilst societies spend billions every year on disaster response, bailouts and recovery, little seems to be done to invest in building more resilient homes. This film takes the viewer on a journey of destruction to find out whether today’s homes are ‘Built to Last’, featuring families in the US, the UK and the Philippines who are taking matters into their own hands, with the help of local and international non-profit organisations.
