Meet the staff and inhabitants of the world’s largest monkey rescue centre
Based in Dorset in the UK, Monkey World is the largest monkey and ape rescue centre on the planet. For nearly three decades, the team has saved countless primates – across 20 countries - from lives of cruelty, abuse, and neglect. This safe haven is now home to more than 200 monkeys and apes. The dedicated staff never stop in their quest to save animals from being mistreated by owners, ending up in laboratories or being exploited in the entertainment industry.
In series 14, this valuable work continues. New arrivals keep coming and include ‘The Simpsons’, a family of marmosets whose owner has passed away, and two patas monkeys and two capuchins that lived in a park that has lost its wild animal license. Meanwhile, existing resident Kalu, a chimpanzee from South Africa, has failing health and is a cause of concern. Charming, moving, and featuring both big primate and human characters, Monkey Life should not be missed.
