Meet the staff and inhabitants of the world’s largest primate rescue centre
Based in Dorset in the UK, Monkey World is the largest monkey and ape rescue centre on the planet. For nearly three decades, the team has saved countless primates – across 27 countries - from lives of cruelty, abuse, and neglect. This safe haven is now home to more than 260 monkeys and apes. The dedicated staff never stop in their quest to save animals from being mistreated by owners, ending up in laboratories or being exploited in the entertainment industry.
In series 15, this valuable work continues. New arrivals keep coming and include TikTok, a young marmoset whose owner wanted to make cute videos for online likes, and Red, the park’s first-ever red-bellied Tamarin. We follow as all the chimps, orangutans and gibbons get their Covid vaccination and watch while the woolly monkey section gets a calming makeover, as the park welcomes three more woolly babies. Charming, moving, and featuring both big primate and human characters, Monkey Life should not be missed.
