My France with Manu: Paris to Strasburg

The third series of My France With Manu takes viewers on a picturesque and entertaining journey through My Kitchen Rules judge, Manu Feildel’s beautiful homeland, France. From Paris, Manu heads towards the Rhine, stopping to visit the esteemed House of Bollinger in the Champagne-Ardenne. In Alsace-Lorraine, he creates a simple rustic quiche lorraine before travelling to Strasbourg through the Alsation vineyards. Here he tastes traditional sauerkraut and paté, culminating in the formidable ‘Choucroute’, a feast of meat!

My France with Manu: The Rhone Valley

Manu Feildel continues his journey through his home country, this time travelling from the French Alps to the Mediterranean Sea. Starting in the Alps Manu goes mountain biking, learns how to yodel and makes cheese fondue. He is also shown how to make bread that can last for years and is taken on a freezing hydro-speed ride. On the mountain lakes Manu fishes for a local delicacy served in the Michelin-star restaurants of Lac Bourget, then travels to the Rhône Valley to sample the best of the local wines, before learning the ancient sport of boat jousting in Lyon. Travelling onto Provence he plays pétanque and drinks pastis with the locals, then in the Camargue Manu tries his hand at cattle herding and bull fighting. Finally there is time for a spot of fishing, cliff diving and great food on the Mediterranean coast. Manu shares the food, wine and culture of his France as only a local can.

My France with Manu: Brittany to Biarritz

Manu Feildel, chef and host of My Kitchen Rules, travels from Brittany to Biarritz to showcase the culinary delights of his homeland. This is old France; a myriad of villages interconnected by family and food traditions. Manu visits his mother, a great cook and the inspiration for his first recipe book, who lives in the beautiful seaside village of Guidel. Next he relives his apprenticeship served under his father at a workers’ restaurant. In the tiny village of Challones-sur-Loire, he learns how to make his great-grandfather’s famous cake in the patisserie where it was invented. Manu joins his uncle at his village charcuterie to make sausages before making his way south along the Atlantic coast to Biarritz, where his sister sells the very best fruit and vegetables. Manu travels every mode of transport, from a mechanical elephant, canoe and seaplane, to a donkey, sand yacht and vintage Renault. Manu will cook, eat and reminisce on a personal journey of family, food and adventure.
