This combine with other sources of pollution including traffic, heating, and the city’s many other industrial plants, to produce a smog so bad that it in winter weather it forces school children, the elderly and vulnerable to stay indoors and keep their breathing to a minimum.

‘The Factory’ investigates lives of residents in the 2 districts of Radvanice and Bartovice, which lie in the shadow of ArcelorMittal giant steel plant. Air pollution is associated with a range of breathing illnesses and has the potential to damage people's DNA. ArcelorMittal are taking significant steps to reduce their emissions and deny they are primarily responsible for pollution in Radvanice and Bartovice.
